Woman killed and five remain hospitalized after Route 3 crash in Columbia Friday night, officials say

A woman was killed, and five remain hospitalized after a crash in Columbia on Friday, officials say. Just after 9 p.m. Friday, officials say they responded to a head-on crash on Route 3.It was determined that a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound and a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro was driving northbound on Route 3 for reasons that remain under investigation. The Camaro crossed the centerline and struck the Silverado head-on, causing severe damage, officials say. Several good Samaritans immediately stopped to assist the occupants of both vehicles. The Silverado was occupied by a family of five, including two adults and two children. All five were transported to a local hospital, two with non-life-threatening injuries and three with life-threatening injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the Camaro was identified as Courtney Diamond, 25, of Pelham, who was pronounced dead at the scene.Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Colebrook police and fire departments, New Hampshire Fish and Game, Pittsburg Police Department, Stratford Fire Department, and 45th Parallel EMS.Route 3 was closed for approximately three and a half hours while troopers conducted their on-scene investigation.All aspects of the crash remain under investigation.
