Woman injured after tractor-trailer rollover crash on I-79 in Allegheny County
A woman was taken to the hospital following a tractor-trailer rollover crash along a portion of I-79 in Allegheny County on Saturday. Dispatchers confirmed to Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that officials were called to I-79 in the northbound direction near mile marker 64 (Coraopolis/McKees Rocks) following reports of a crash. Pittsburgh's Action News 4 was on the scene, where crews were seen working to remove the tractor-trailer from the road. In a post from the Moon Run Volunteer Fire Company, a woman was trapped under the truck as a result of the crash. She was later rescued and taken to the hospital in stable condition. A spokesperson for PennDOT said as of 6:30 p.m., a lane restriction remained in place as crews work to remove the tractor-trailer from the road. Drivers are asked to use caution in the area.
