Woman from Johnstown dies following Thanksgiving night car crash
Tragedy struck the community of Fulton County during this holiday season as a mother of two young children, Alicia Corbett, lost her life in a car accident. The accident occurred when her car was hit by another vehicle driving in the wrong direction on State Route 17. Alicia tragically passed away, while her seven-year-old son and two-month-old daughter were hospitalized with injuries. Alicia’s boyfriend also suffered injuries, including a collapsed lung. After leaving a Thanksgiving dinner, the accident occurred only fifteen minutes later, shattering the hope of a bright future for the family. The community is coming together to support the family by organizing a fundraising bowling tournament at Perry Lanes, owned by Alicia's family. Donations and support from local businesses are welcomed to assist with the children’s recovery. Loved ones remember Alicia as a caring, determined, and loving individual, recounting her passion for family, softball, and helping others. Despite the heartbreaking loss, Alicia's family found solace in her choice to be an organ donor, ultimately impacting the lives of two individuals with her selfless act. To contribute to the healing process for Alicia's family, donations can be made through the active GoFundMe page or arranged via Perry Lanes Johnstown Facebook page.
