Woman dies in two-vehicle crash in South Bend
A woman has died in a two-vehicle crash in South Bend on Thursday. Police were called to the Portage and Vassar intersection around 10:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a serious crash between a Chevy Malibu and a Toyota Camry. First responders and officers tended to a woman who was a passenger in the Malibu. She had serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The St. Joseph County FACT was requested to investigate the crash. Four people in the Camry, including two children, suffered minor injuries and were transported to the hospital. Upon an initial investigation, the driver of the Malibu was arrested in connection with the crash. The exact reason is not known. The crash remains under investigation.
