Woman dies after Friday crash in Waynedale: coroner
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Wednesday, the Allen County Coroner's Office announced a woman died after a Friday crash in Waynedale. She was identified as Diana G. Hiday, 73, from Bluffton. The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Bluffton Road and Airport Expressway. Hiday was a passenger in a sedan that collided with an SUV. The crash left Hiday in life-threatening condition. She was taken to a hospital where she later died. The coroner ruled her manner of death an accident, as is the standard for crashes. The cause of her death was failure of multiple organs due to her injuries. The crash is still under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, coroner's office and prosecutor's office.
