Woman dies after colliding with oncoming traffic in Corinth
A Lake Luzurne woman is dead after her car drove into oncoming traffic, causing a crash. The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office responded to a head-on car crash on State Route 9N near Antone Mountain Road in Corinth. It occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The investigation revealed that a 2018 Jeep Compass operated by Joan Meyer, 84, of Lake Luzerne, crossed into the oncoming lane, striking a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado travelling in the opposite direction. Meyer died from her injuries at Saratoga Hospital; the operator of the 2020 Silverado was transported to Albany Medical Center with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries. The Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the accident. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police, Corinth Fire Department, Luzerne-Hadley Fire Department, Greenfield Fire Department, Jessups Landing EMS and Moreau EMS.
