Woman dies after being ejected in violent L.A. crash: police

A woman died after she was ejected in a crash in L.A.’s Pico-Union neighborhood overnight, police confirmed. Preliminary information indicates the crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. Monday in the 1300 block of West Washington Boulevard, near Magnolia Avenue. A female passenger in her 30s was ejected, according to details verified by the Los Angeles Police Department. She was transported to a local hospital but pronounced dead. While the cause of the crash is still under investigation, an LAPD spokesperson told KTLA that it appears the driver of the vehicle hit a light pole and then multiple parked cars. Video from the scene shows at least three cars were damaged, including a black sedan that was left virtually unrecognizable due to the force of the collision. The footage obtained by KTLA shows a man being treated at the scene before being loaded into an ambulance. There were reports of additional injuries, although they were not immediately confirmed by law enforcement.
