Woman charged with intoxication manslaughter after fatal truck crash

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A woman has been recently charged with intoxication manslaughter after another woman was struck and killed by a rolling truck over the weekend, according to El Paso police. Police say 62-year-old Aurora Jaimes Morales was charged with intoxication manslaughter after 57-year-old Ana Maria Paniagua was struck and killed by a rolling truck on the 7800 block of North Loop. As KTSM 9 News previously reported, EPPD's Special Traffic Investigations unit responded to the area in reference to a crash involving a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed that 57-year-old Ana Maria Paniagua offered to drive Morales home that Saturday. While Morales was changing seats in a truck, the truck began to roll backwards, which struck Paniagua, police said. Paniagua was taken to a hospital where she died as a result of her injuries, police said. Police say the DWI Task Force was called to assist with the investigation.
