Woman airlifted to hospital in head-on Auburn crash dies
(FOX40.COM) — A woman who was airlifted to the hospital Thursday afternoon following a head-on crash near Auburn has died, officials said, bringing the total number of fatalities to three. Video: 2 dead in crash near Auburn Two vehicles collided on Foresthill Road east of Lake Clementine Road around 3:55 p.m., California Highway Patrol Auburn officers said. Officers said a black SUV, driven by a male with a female passenger, was traveling eastbound on Foresthill Road. A white sedan, driven by a female, was traveling westbound on the roadway. The two drivers died at the scene. The woman passenger was transported by helicopter with major injuries. She later died. The identities of those killed have not been released. Foresthill Road was closed for over two hours following the collision. DUI is not suspected at this time. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
