Milwaukee police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Saturday evening near Vel R Phillips Avenue and West State Street in downtown Milwaukee, where a 47-year-old woman was killed.Authorities are searching for the person responsible for the shooting. The incident reportedly began with a car accident near the Deer District, according to a witness who spoke anonymously to 12 News. "She was screaming, why would you break my window? And then the suspect, like, put his hands up and was like, 'I'll pay to get it fixed. How much do you want?' And she said, 'I don't want your money. I want your life.' And then she was pointing the gun at the man. But also, since we were walking on the sidewalk and that's where they were located, she was also pointing it directly at all of us innocent bystanders." Witnesses ran for cover when shots were fired around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Police were seen investigating a red SUV with a busted back window. The shooting left witnesses traumatized after watching someone lose their life."Not end how you expect it to," the witness said. The woman who witnessed the shooting said she hasn't slept well since the incident and is taking time off to process what happened. She plans to return to Milwaukee.
