Westbound I-40 reopens after fatal accident
Westbound traffic on I-40 has resumed at the Big I in Albuquerque following a tragic incident. New Mexico State Police reported a fatal collision involving a pedestrian attempting to cross the interstate near University Boulevard before 11 p.m. on Sunday. Law enforcement shut down the interstate at the Big I for an extended period, diverting drivers onto either northbound or southbound I-25. Additionally, the northbound stretch of University Boulevard was temporarily closed in the vicinity. Westbound I-40 reopened around 1:30 a.m. on Monday.
