At 10:33 a.m., crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 14000 block of County Road 616, about nine miles south of Vienna. The first arriving officer reported heavy smoke coming from the home. Firefighters arrived within 12 minutes and quickly attacked the blaze. Crews were able to knock down the fire in the home's living area, but soon discovered the flames had spread into the attic. As the incident escalated, command requested mutual aid from the Dixon Rural Fire Protection District and the Argyle Fire Department to assist with water supply operations. Firefighters faced additional challenges while attempting to ventilate the structure. According to Vienna Fire, crews encountered two separate roof systems, making ventilation efforts more difficult as a heavy thunderstorm moved through the area. No injuries were reported in the department's release, and the cause of the fire was not immediately available.
