Video: Suspected drunk driver smashes through Ulta Beauty store windows in Royal Oak

A 26-year-old Canton woman crashed her car into an Ulta Beauty store on Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak after evading a traffic stop early Sunday morning, according to police. Katrina Patterson is facing multiple felony charges, including malicious destruction of property, as a result of the incident that took place around 12:30 a.m. Surveillance footage shows Patterson's car smashing through the store's windows before attempting to flee again by reversing and hitting a police vehicle, then driving further into the store causing additional damage. Community member Beth Armstrong, who viewed the police video, expressed disbelief at the chaotic event, emphasizing the importance of paying attention to others on the road. Patterson, who was reportedly intoxicated at the time of her arrest, had her bond set at $50,000. The extent of the damage inflicted on both the interior and exterior of the Ulta store is not yet known, with the store currently boarded up and no reopening date announced.
