Video captures car crashing into Mason restaurant; 2 individuals detained

Two individuals have been taken into custody following an incident where a car collided with the front of a popular restaurant in Mason early Monday morning. The Quatman Cafe, located on West Main Street, sustained damage to its front facade due to the crash. Despite the unfortunate event, the restaurant announced on social media that they will remain open. Owner Matt Imm expressed frustration at this recurring situation, as this marks the third time in 15 years that their establishment has been hit. Following a major crash in 2015, safety measures like pylons were installed to prevent such incidents. Investigations suggest that speed and alcohol may have played a role in the recent crash, leading to the arrest of Mauricio Arturo Alvarado Ruiz and Oscar Romelio Gonsalez Escobar. Ruiz, believed to be the driver, faces charges including receiving stolen property, OVI, and failure to comply with police orders. Escobar has also been charged with receiving stolen property and obstructing official business.
