Victims identified in fatal Reno County crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Reno County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the victims involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash Saturday morning. It happened just after 10 a.m., half a mile north of U.S. Highway 50 on Kansas Highway 14. According to the sheriff's office, a southbound Chevy Malibu crossed the center line and struck a northbound Jeep Liberty head-on. The driver of the Jeep, 59-year-old Adam Arevalo of Hutchinson, was being transported to Wichita by Eagle Med when it was diverted to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. There, he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Chevy, 27-year-old Cecil Chandler IV of Hutchison, was pronounced dead on scene. The passenger of the Chevy was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and later transported to a Wichita hospital in serious condition. The sheriff's office says the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
