Victim in fatal crash near Salado identified - KWKT
Bell County, Tx (FOX 44) - UPDATE: Department of Public Safety Sergeant Bryan Washko has confirmed a Belton man died in car/motorcycle crash near Salado Thursday. FM-2484 was closed for a time as multiple agencies responded to the crash Thursday afternoon. The crash occurred about 4:16 p.m. On FM 2484 and Ridgewood Drive. Sgt Washko said the victim was 68-year-old John Josef Allen who was the operator of a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that had been traveling east on FM 2484. A 25-year-old Killeen man driving a 2023 Toyota Camry had been attempting to turn south onto Ridgewood Drive from FM 2484. The investigating trooper said Allen had been passing another vehicle on the left when he collided with the Camry. Allen was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Camry was transported to Baylor Scott & White for evaluation, The crash investigation was listed as active and open Friday morning.
