Victim ID’d in Saturday’s fatal hit-and-run crash
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Allen County Coroner's Office released the identity of a man who was killed Saturday after being hit by a car. 24-year-old DaQuon Sincere Reed of Fort Wayne was identified as the pedestrian who died of multiple blunt force injuries caused by the crash, and his death was ruled an accident, according to a press release. The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of South Hanna Street and E. Sherwood Terrace at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, for reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. On the scene, police found Reed unresponsive, and medics pronounced him dead. DaQuon Reed's death marks the 17th traffic-related death in Fort Wayne this year. The crash remains under investigation by FWPD, the Allen County Prosecutors' Office, and the Allen County Coroner's Office.
