Vehicle smashes into Rosati's Pizza restaurant, injuring 3.
A jeep crashed into a pizzeria on Wednesday afternoon in Batavia, Illinois, resulting in three people being hospitalized. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at Rosati's Pizza on Wilson Street. The driver, a 77-year-old man, accidentally accelerated into the restaurant after experiencing mechanical issues with his gear shift while picking up a food order. Authorities suspect he may have had a medical problem during the accident. The building sustained damage and had to be secured. Two restaurant employees and the driver were injured but are in stable condition at the hospital. The Batavia police are seeking information about the crash and can be reached at 630-454-2500.
