Vehicle plunges 40 feet down embankment in Lamoille Canyon
Emergency crews responded to a vehicle accident in Lamoille Canyon after a vehicle left the roadway and came to rest down a steep embankment late this morning. According to the Elko County Fire Protection District, the crash was reported around 11:27 a.m. approximately five miles up Lamoille Canyon. Officials said the vehicle left the roadway and came to rest about 40 feet down steep terrain. Technical rescue operations took place to reach the vehicle. Elko County Fire and Elko County Ambulance were on scene. No information about the number of occupants or the extent of any injuries has been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
