According to the authorities, the driver was traveling north on 76th Street around 1 a.m. when their vehicle veered off the road, crashed, and caught fire. The driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Approximately 20 minutes earlier, police had responded to a shooting close by, near 76th and Bobolink, where a 32-year-old victim sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital.
