Utility pole severed after crash in Colchester

Colchester Point Road was closed for part of the morning on Sunday after a car crashed into a utility pole. At around 9:45 a.m., crews from the Colchester Fire Department were dispatched to a single-car crash on Colchester Point Road. According to the fire department, it was initially reported that the car was on fire, but when they arrived, they found it was not. The driver was able to remove themselves from the car before crews arrived. It's unclear if they suffered any injuries. A utility pole was severed at the base because of the collision. Nearby homes had damage from the wires being pulled. Colchester Point Road was closed between Porters Point Road and Red Oak Drive while the fire department cleared the scene and Green Mountain Power worked to restore power.
