Pedestrian dead after collision involving San Diego police

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A deadly collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle prompted a temporary road closure in the Linda Vista neighborhood early Wednesday morning, and the San Diego Police Department was involved in the incident, authorities said. According to SDPD, the collision occurred around 1:29 a.m. in the 5800 block of Linda Vista Road near the intersection at Goshen Street. Authorities confirmed the crash involved a vehicle and pedestrian. The individual that was hit was later pronounced dead at 3:37 a.m. Their identity has not yet been released. Linda Vista Road was shut down for several hours in both directions between Goshen Street and Brunner Street while officers conducted an investigation. The roadway began reopening shortly before 6 a.m. SDPD confirmed the department was involved in the incident but have not released additional details regarding the extent of that involvement.
