US 40 closed following crash that killed 2 in Duchesne County

A crash has left two people dead on US 40 in Duchesne County early Monday morning.According to Utah Highway Patrol, on Monday morning at around 5:50 a.m., two vehicles, a Kia Soul and a Ford pickup truck, crashed head-on on Highway 40 between Myton and Roosevelt. Investigators say the Ford F-150 was traveling westbound when it crossed the center lane and struck the Kia head-on. Troopers say both vehicles had a single occupant that were declared dead at the scene. Officials say a 67-year-old man was driving the truck while a 25-year-old man was driving the Kia. Their names haven't been released. The highway was closed for several hours while the investigation took place. Utah Highway Patrol estimates they will reopen the roadway to traffic at noon. Another secondary crash happened near the initial crash site. Troopers say that the second crash involved two pickups, but nobody was injured.
