Update: CPSO identfies man killed in ATV accident

KEITHVILLE, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash involving an all-terrain vehicle in Keithville. Just after 10 am on Friday, February 27, 2026, CPSO responded to an emergency request for assistance from Caddo Fire District 6. When they arrived, they found a collision involving an ATV and a deceased man, later identified as Tony Stroceck, 20, on the scene. "What we do know is that they were looking to use the ATV to move a couple of things, like trash. And somehow the ATV ended up going backwards and running over the individual," says Brandon Fountain, CPSO Media Specialist Fountain described the incident as a "freak accident", and investigators say there is no word on any potential charges. He urges everyone to use extreme caution when operating any motor vehicle. "With situations like this, it is always best to obviously be aware of your surroundings when starting any vehicle. Whether it be an ATV, motor vehicle, anything like that. Like I said, this was obviously an accident. But you just never know. You always have to be cautious," he says. The name of the victim has not been released, but Fountain says the victim and the other man involved are related.
