Two women die in Lakeland collision due to driver losing control: PCSO
Two women lost their lives in a tragic crash on Nov. 29 in Lakeland, as per authorities. The incident occurred when a driver, identified as Rylee Hill of Fort Meade, lost control of her car on Kathleen Road. This caused her vehicle to cross into the opposite lanes and collide with another car driven by 48-year-old Emily Placeres of Lakeland. The crash also involved a Dodge Ram truck driven by Chad Hiltner and an Audi SUV driven by Chad's son, Brock Hiltner, with Chad's mother, Annette Zalner, as a passenger. Unfortunately, Hill and Zalner did not survive the collision, while Placeres and Brock Hiltner sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Polk County Sheriff's Office stated that the crash was likely a result of excessive speed. Kathleen Road was closed for approximately six hours following the accident, and investigations are ongoing.
