Two vehicles collide in West Paris, causing a closure on section of Rt. 26.

Three vehicles, including a logging truck, were involved in a serious collision that led to the closure of part of Route 26 in West Paris for several hours on Friday morning. The Oxford County Sheriff's Office reported that a 62-year-old man from West Paris, driving a Nissan Pathfinder, collided with the back of a logging truck around 6:30 a.m. The truck was attempting to make a left turn into a business at the time. The Pathfinder driver was transported to Stephen's Memorial Hospital in Norway with severe injuries. Fortunately, the truck driver was unharmed in the incident. Following the collision with the truck, the Pathfinder veered into oncoming traffic and struck a Subaru Outback driven by a woman from Sumner, who sustained minor injuries. Authorities indicated that alcohol likely played a role in causing the accident.
