Two teenagers killed in sledding incidents during severe winter storm weekend

Tragic incidents occurred during a recent severe winter storm that affected multiple states, leading to power outages, dangerous roads, and flight cancellations. Two teenagers, a 17-year-old boy from Arkansas and a 16-year-old girl from Texas, lost their lives in separate sledding accidents. At least 13 weather-related deaths were reported across the affected areas as a result of the storm. The snowstorm, which covered a 1,300-mile stretch from Arkansas to New England, caused widespread school closures on Monday, with some areas expecting up to two feet of snow. In Texas, a 16-year-old girl named Elizabeth Angle passed away in a sledding accident, and another 16-year-old is in critical condition. The tragic incident involved a Jeep driven by a 16-year-old male pulling the two victims on a sled, which ended in a collision with a tree in Frisco, Texas. Similarly, a 17-year-old boy lost his life in a sledding mishap in Benton, Arkansas. The teen was riding an inner tube pulled by a vehicle before striking a tree. Emergency responders tried to save the young boy in both incidents but unfortunately, were unsuccessful. Both accidents are still being investigated by the respective authorities.
