Two people killed in crash on I-69 in Evansville
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) -- A crash in Evansville has left two people dead. A release from the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office says on Friday around 9:15p.m., deputies, EPD officers and DNR officers were called to a crash on I-69 near the South Green River Road exit. Once crews were at the scene, first responders immediately provided lifesaving measures. However, both would die at the scene from their injuries. Deputies say an investigation revealed a motorcycle traveling northbound crashed, and a passing driver stopped to check on the driver. This is when a third vehicle, also traveling northbound, struck the motorcyclist and the driver who had stopped. Deputies say the driver of the third vehicle was trying to move out of the way of the second vehicle, who was pulled over and had its hazards on. The identities of the crash victims have not been released. Officials say the crash remains under investigation.
