Two killed in fatal I-80 crash as car plunges off embankment

Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a car accident on Interstate 80 on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred on the westbound side of I-80, east of Weimar Cross Road in Placer County. According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree for reasons that are still being investigated. The victims, a man and a woman, succumbed to their injuries.
