Two injured in I-64 crash in Kanawha County
Two people were injured in a crash that closed multiple lanes of Interstate 64 in Kanawha County, snarling traffic Wednesday morning. The crash was reported about 7:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 near South Charleston. The right and middle lanes were closed for a little more than an hour, but have since reopened. Kanawha County dispatchers said two people were taken to the hospital following the crash, but the extent of their injuries was not known. No information was available on what caused the incident, which led to the vehicle ending up on its top. The crash backed up traffic as far back as the Institute area as of 8:30 a.m. Drivers should use caution in the area until traffic returns to normal.
