Two high school students dead after fatal three-car crash in Princeton, West Virginia

PRINCETON, W.Va. (WVNS) - Two Princeton Senior High School students have died after a three-vehicle crash Thursday morning. According to West Virginia State Police and Mercer County 911 dispatchers, the crash happened on Courthouse Road in Princeton. Officials say the crash shut down the roadway for some time. Mercer County Public Schools confirmed that the victims were Princeton Senior High School students. The student's identities have not been released at this time. "It is with profound sadness that Mercer County Public Schools shares the tragic loss of two Princeton Senior High School students," The school district announced on Facebook. "Our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences are with the family, friends, classmates, teachers and all who knew and loved them during this incredibly difficult time." Along with the school system, multiple law enforcement agencies posted statements of condolences on social media. The school system says it will have school counselors and members of the district crisis response team on campus for students and staff. Along with the WVSP, the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, Princeton Police Department, Princeton City Fire Department, East River Volunteer Fire Department, and Princeton Rescue Squad responded to the scene, as stated by Mercer County Dispatch.
