Two female fatalities in southwestern Minnesota due to collision between semitruck and minivan
Two women tragically lost their lives in a collision between a semitruck and a Chrysler minivan in Elmer Township, Minnesota, on Christmas Eve. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 75 and 21st Street at about 1:42 p.m. The driver of the Chrysler, a 71-year-old woman named Patricia Ann Struiksma from Chandler, Minnesota, was traveling westbound on 21st Street when the collision happened with a northbound semitruck being driven by a man on Highway 75. The passenger in the minivan, identified as 69-year-old Donna Jean Vanthof from Leota, Minnesota, also lost her life in the crash. Fortunately, the man driving the semitruck was unharmed. The state patrol mentioned that the roads were wet at the time of the collision. Elmer Township, situated in Pipestone County, is located approximately 202 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
