Two drivers killed in wrong-way crash on downtown highway identified
SAN ANTONIO — Authorities have identified the two drivers killed in a wrong-way crash downtown early Thursday morning. The victims were 27-year-old David Lee Ortiz and 35-year-old John Anthony Rodriguez. Police said Ortiz was driving the wrong way and collided head-on with Rodriguez's vehicle, according to police. Ortiz was pronounced dead at the scene. First responders attempted to rescue Rodriguez, but he also died at the scene. A 25-year-old woman who was a passenger in Rodriguez's vehicle was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
