Two drivers hospitalized in East Main Street crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle crash on East Main Street in Rochester on Saturday evening. According to the Rochester Police Department, officers were called to the scene of East Main Street and Barnum Street for a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles with reported injuries at 8:49 p.m. At the scene, it was found that the vehicles were traveling west on East Main Street when a vehicle driven by a woman from the City of Rochester struck another vehicle from behind. She and the other driver, a man from the City of Rochester, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. AMR Ambulance and the Rochester Fire Department also responded. East Main Street was closed to traffic from Mustard Street to Quincy Street as crews responded. The investigation remains active as police look into the circumstances of the incident and determine if alcohol or drugs were a possible factor. Police add citations or charges may be considered when the investigation is done. This is an ongoing investigation.
