Two bicyclists killed, one injure in Spartanburg County crash

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - Coroners were called Sunday to the scene of a deadly wreck in Spartanburg County. The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office confirmed it was called to investigate a wreck on Asheville Highway near Brock Street on Sunday afternoon. The South Carolina Highway Patrol stated two bicyclists were riding on the eastbound sidewalk of Asheville Highway when a 2016 Honda Accord, carrying two occupants, ran off the right side of the road and struck the bicyclists. Both bicyclists were injured in the crash and transferred to a nearby hospital, where they both died from their injuries. One of the occupants of the Accord was also transported to a nearby hospital. The identities of the bicyclists have not been released at this time. The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol This is a developing story.
