Tragic death of 14-year-old girl in Flower Mound collision
A tragic incident occurred in Flower Mound, leading to the passing of a 14-year-old girl who was struck by a truck on Tuesday afternoon. The collision took place at the intersection of Valley Ridge Boulevard and Browning Drive, prompting road closures in the vicinity. The teenager was transported to the hospital but unfortunately did not survive her injuries. Flower Mound police reported that the driver of a 2020 Chevy pickup truck hit the girl while she was crossing the street. The victim was identified as a 9th-grade student at Marcus 9th Grade Campus within the Lewisville Independent School District. The district expressed deep sorrow over the loss and ensured that counseling support is available for affected individuals. The investigation into the incident, which involved a 60-year-old driver from Lewisville who remained at the scene unharmed, is currently ongoing under the Flower Mound Police Department's direction.
