Traffic stalled for miles on SB I-35 after multi-car crash in Northland

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Southbound Interstate 35 is shut down in the Northland after multiple cars, including at least one tractor-trailer, were involved in a crash Thursday morning. According to KC Scout cameras, both southbound lanes were blocked by medics and first responders near the Chouteau Trafficway exit for the crash, which is believed to have taken place between 9 and 9:30 a.m. As of 9:45 a.m., traffic is at a standstill from Chouteau to an area near the I-435 exit in Claycomo. Traffic on Northbound I-35 has also been reduced to one lane for a parked emergency vehicle that is helping at the scene.
