Traffic backed up for 5 miles on I-95 in Richmond due to multiple car collision

A multiple-vehicle collision on Interstate 95 in Richmond led to traffic delays on Friday morning. The incident took place around 9:40 a.m. near the Maury Street exit. Although there were some reports of injuries, fortunately, none of them were deemed life-threatening. The crash resulted in the closure of all northbound lanes, causing backups of about five miles. The lanes were eventually reopened and the area was cleared by 11:45 a.m. Virginia State Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
