Traffic alert: Multi-vehicle crash on I-271 N express near Warrensville Heights
BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) - Crews are on the scene of a multiple-vehicle crash that happened on Interstate 271 northbound near Bedford Heights and Oakwood on Monday night. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at the Interstate 271 and Interstate 480 split. The highway patrol confirmed that multiple vehicles were involved. It is unclear if there were any injuries. State troopers said, as of 11:20 p.m., I-271 northbound is closed at the I-480 interchange due to the crash. "Emergency responders are on scene, and crews are working to clear the roadway," the highway patrol said in a Monday night press release. "Traffic is being diverted away from the area, and motorists should expect major delays during the evening travel period." Officials also warned that black ice was being reported in the area. "Drivers are urged to use extreme caution, reduce speed and allow extra travel time when navigating nearby roadways," the release said.
