Tracy crash kills passenger, driver detained
A tragic accident occurred on SR-4 in Tracy on Friday morning, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. An individual lost their life in the crash. The incident involved a silver Nissan driving recklessly westbound on SR-4 near the Middle River Bridge around 9:30 a.m. Witnesses observed the Nissan nearly colliding with eastbound traffic multiple times due to the driver's reckless behavior. The Nissan eventually lost control, flipped over, and landed in the water after veering off the road's south edge. The driver and passenger were rescued by several individuals, with the passenger later succumbing to their injuries at San Joaquin County General Hospital. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and taken into custody.
