Tractor-trailer crash, fuel spill shuts down part of I-670 East in Kansas City Tuesday
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A tractor-trailer crash and fuel spill shut down part of Interstate 670 in Kansas City Tuesday afternoon. The Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) said at 1:34 p.m., it responded to a tractor-trailer accident on I-670 East past U.S. Highway 71 near the convention center. KCFD said hazmat was ordered to the scene to clean up diesel fuel from one of the tractor-trailer's fuel tanks. The interstate appears to have reopened, and traffic looks like it's flowing smoothly again. At 2:30 p.m., the Kansas City Scout map showed backups all the way to the Main Street bridge.
