TPD: Admiral Place closed east of Memorial following fatal crash
TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said Admiral Place east of Memorial Drive is closed following a fatal two-car crash. The department said their initial investigation indicates a car was traveling eastbound on Admiral Place at a high rate of speed before it crossed the double-yellow center line and hit a car traveling westbound. However, authorities emphasized the exact details of what led up to the crash are still under investigation. Police said neither the driver or the passenger inside the eastbound car were wearing seatbelts and stated both were ejected during the crash. Authorities said the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The ejected driver was rushed to the hospital for further treatment. Police said several people inside the westbound car were also taken to the hospital, stating one of the injured victims in the car is a four-year-old girl. The department said Admiral Place will be shut down in both directions while Advanced Traffic Investigators gather evidence at the scene. Authorities said the road is expected to be closed for several hours and asks drivers to avoid the area and to use alternate routes.
