Tiger Woods involved in rollover car accident on Friday in Jupiter Island, Florida

Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover car accident at approximately 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon in Jupiter Island, Florida, according to multiple reports and the Martin County Sheriff's Office. The crash occurred near 281 Beach Road, with a vehicle photographed by WPTV laying on the driver's side. Woods recently competed in the second and final match of the TGL Finals on Tuesday night, pitting his Jupiter Links GC team against the eventual champions Los Angeles Golf Club. Woods looked good for much of the match, hitting several impressive shots, including a long-distance low shot known as a stinger, played on the hole eponymous with the shot name that he made famous. This was Woods' first competitive appearance of the year. He hasn’t competed since the 2024 Open Championship, though he was weighing playing in the 2026 Masters Tournament and had entered, though not committed to play, the 2026 US Senior Open. Woods had two surgeries since his last competitive appearance: one in March 2025 to repair a ruptured left Achilles tendon and one in October 2025 for a lumbar disc replacement. In February 2021, Woods was severely injured in a rollover crash outside of Los Angeles, where he suffered a compound fracture that almost led to amputation. Woods had to be removed from the vehicle after the one-car accident and underwent multiple surgeries on his right leg.
