Three people severely injured in a blazing rollover accident on Route 87 in Middlefield Township

In Middlefield Township, Ohio, two individuals sustained critical injuries after a truck veered off a road in Geauga County, overturned, and ignited on Wednesday, December 24. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that emergency responders arrived just before noon on Christmas Eve at the intersection of state Route 87 and Bundysburg Road in the township. The truck, driven by a 42-year-old man from Cleveland, was traveling east on state Route 87 when it departed the road, collided with two large rocks, flipped over, and caught fire. Two passengers were airlifted to a Cleveland hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the driver was transported by ambulance to the same facility with severe injuries. Various agencies, including the Geauga County Sheriff's Office, Middlefield police, and local EMS teams, provided assistance at the scene. The incident is currently being investigated.
