Three killed in late-night Bellefontaine Neighbors crash

BELLEFONTAINE NEIGHBORS, Mo. - Three people are dead after a multi-car crash Friday evening in Bellefontaine Neighbors, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday in the southbound and northbound lanes of Lewis and Clark Boulevard near Haviland Drive. According to MSHP's crash report, a driver in a 2013 Cadillac SRX was heading southbound on Lewis and Clark Boulevard and sideswiped a 2020 Lexus RX350 vehicle. The crash sent the Lexus toward the northbound lanes upon impact. At that time, a driver in a 2013 Toyota Highlander was traveling northbound when the Lexus collided with its front end. The Lexus vehicle overturned upon impact. Meanwhile, the Cadillac veered off the right side of the road after the initial crash and collided into trees. MSHP reports that the driver of the Lexus, a 53-year-old woman; a passenger in the Lexus, and 18-year-old woman; and the driver of the Toyota, a 28-year-old woman; all died from their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. MSHP did not have an update on the driver of the Cadillac, nor his or her condition or whereabouts. MSHP Troop C, which covers much of the St. Louis region, is investigating the crash.
