Three killed in Lamar County two-vehicle crash

LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) - Three people, including a 16-year-old, were killed during a two-vehicle crash in Lamar County. The crash occurred on Highway 42 around 8:30 p.m. on February 13, 2026. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), a 2007 Ford F-150 was traveling west on the highway when it collided with a 2021 Toyota Camry that was traveling east. Troopers said the driver of the Ford, 18-year-old Aaron Page, of Sumrall, died at the scene, along with 23-year-old Courtney Whitehead and a 16-year-old, both of Bassfield. Whitehead was the driver of the Toyota, and the teenager was a passenger in the vehicle. MHP officials said another passenger in the Toyota, a 17-year-old from Carson, was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
