Three individuals injured after car collides with Denny's in Scott Township
Several individuals were injured when a car crashed into a Denny's restaurant in Scott Township. The accident occurred around 9 a.m. on Wednesday along Greentree Road. Authorities revealed that a senior man was driving a blue SUV, and accidentally pressed on the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to accelerate into the building. Three customers sustained minor injuries and were taken to St. Clair Hospital for evaluation. Local resident Walter Skolnicki expressed surprise at the incident, noting that he had to find another restaurant to go to. Emergency responders noted that similar accidents have happened in the area before, and commended the luck that no more severe injuries occurred. Law enforcement questioned the uninjured driver, who left the scene accompanied by a family member. The restaurant management announced the closure of the building for the remainder of the week, or possibly longer.
