Teenagers in single-car accident in elementary school parking lot, one sustains serious injuries
A 16-year-old boy from Ceres suffered serious injuries in a crash at Hidahl Elementary School's parking lot on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP responded to a report of a traffic accident and found the boy with major injuries next to a parked GMC pickup. The boy was taken to Doctors Medical Center for treatment while the driver of the pickup was unharmed. According to CHP, the evidence suggests that the juvenile was driving the pickup within the school parking lot with another 16-year-old boy on the lowered tailgate when the driver accelerated, causing the passenger to fall off. The CHP mentioned that there were no signs of alcohol or drug involvement in this incident.
