Teen passes away after golf cart accident in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Lubbock Police Department on Monday morning confirmed Jonathan Garcia, 18, passed away on April 23 due to his injuries he sustained in a golf cart accident on April 21. EverythingLubbock.com previously reported officers were called to assist EMS at 9 p.m. near 2nd Street and Avenue K. Garcia suffered serious injuries at the time was taken by EMS to University Medical Center and later passed away. LPD said the investigation revealed Garcia was a passenger on a golf cart that was traveling north on Avenue K. As it turned west onto 2nd Street, Garcia fell out. The driver and other passenger were not hurt, police said.
