Teen motorcycle rider dies in Bethlehem crash
BETHLEHEM — A 19-year-old man died Monday evening in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Route 9W and Magee Drive, police said. Mason Ruggaber, who lived in the town’s Delmar neighborhood and graduated last year from Bethlehem High School, died at the scene after his bike collided with an SUV. The driver of the SUV, a 53-year-old who lives near the crash scene, was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Ruggaber’s motorcycle was moving northbound on Route 9W when it collided with the southbound SUV. The Bethlehem Central School District lists Ruggaber as a member of the class of 2025. The crash remains under investigation while police try to determine why it occurred. Police said the driver of the SUV is cooperating with the investigation.
